Healing the wounds that developed in relationship through relationship.
Complex trauma often develops through accumulated experiences of emotional neglect, inconsistency, criticism, discrimination, abuse, or relationships where your needs and identity couldn’t be safely expressed. In Gestalt therapy, we slow down enough to notice how those experiences continue to live in the present—through your body, emotions, relationships, boundaries, and the ways you’ve learned to protect yourself.
Rather than treating people-pleasing, perfectionism, numbness, mistrust, or chronic shame as personal failures, we understand them as creative adaptations that once helped you survive. Therapy offers a relational, experiential space to bring those patterns into awareness with compassion, explore the unfinished emotional burdens they carry, and begin experimenting with new ways of meeting yourself and others.
The goal isn’t simply to cope better with the past. It’s to develop greater self-trust, flexibility, authentic connection, and the freedom to build relationships without continually abandoning yourself. Healing becomes not only carrying less pain, but reclaiming the vitality and choice that accumulated trauma may have interrupted.

Odd schedule? Frequently traveling for work? Looking for a more immersive therapeutic experience? Therapy intensives offer the opportunity to move at a deeper, more focused pace than traditional weekly therapy. We can meet for one to three consecutive 6-hour days, either in Washington, DC, or I can travel to you in Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, or Virginia.
Step 1: Consultation to determine whether an intensive is the right fit.
Step 2: One to three online preparation sessions to clarify your goals, build our therapeutic relationship, and prepare for the intensive.
Step 3: Your therapy intensive.
Therapy intensives create space to stay with important emotional processes as they naturally unfold, rather than stopping because the session time is over.
*Additional expenses may apply for travel, lodging, meals, and meeting space when applicable.
I am independently licensed in the states listed below and available for online teletherapy when you join while physically in one of those locations. I am also available, upon request, for in-person intensives (day-long or multi day-long therapy experiences). Ask me about scheduling a therapy intensive to learn more.
